About the Founder

Erasme has been in the baking industry for more than 30 years and is very passionate about her creations that are sweet celebrations for her clientele.

Erasme started producing lamingtons, cocktail koeksisters and cocktail sausage rolls in 1990 for local home industry shops around wider Pretoria (Tshwane, Gauteng, South Africa) and started baking predominantly cakes and cupcakes professionally as a family business in 2003.

We baked exclusively for a large variety of home industry stores in and around Pretoria for many years, therefore some may recognise some of our cakes based on orders that they may have made in earlier years. Now we bake exclusively for the general public.

Since then Cakes Net has been building a loyal customer base, as well as highly skilled staff, and a small business that run like a well oiled machine. Our website has a large variety of cakes that cater to the needs of our customers, and are based around their requirements and favourites.

Since CoVid started in 2020, the business has had to make changes and lay off valuable staff, but is still in operation, however more business will be welcome to provide for our staff to come back on a more permanent basis and create job opportunities and prosperity for our country.

On Valentine’s day 2023, the website received a massive upgrade in multiple areas, and we hope that it is now easier for our customers to browse and find what they are looking for with greater usability.
